Airport access to Central
London.
| |
There are many ways to get to Central
London. These are my preferred ways.
Heathrow. Take the rail
train called the Heathrow Express to Padington and change onto the underground
from there if Necessary. The heathrow Express leaves every 15 minutes
and takes exactly 15 minutes to Padington.
Gatwick. Take a regular
train to Waterloo. journey time is about half an hour. Then change
to the underground, if necessary.
Stanstead. Perhaps the nicest
of London's airports. You need to take a regular train to London
Liverpool Street Station. About 30-40 minutes. Then change to the
Underground.
Luton. Take a regular
rail train to London and change to the Underground.
Alternatively, take a limo and make your life pleasant and easy Limosine Travel

Car Parking.
In common with
ALL capital cities, car parking is very expensive. All hotels listed in
our directory have meter parking outside or very close to the hotel.
Only the Castleton Hotel has a private
car park for which they charge £5 per day. Click
this line to view the Castleton Hotel.
Check-in and Check-out.
This varies from
hotel to hotel as well as upon the time of year. Normally check-in
is from about 1pm, but if they have a room available, they will check you
in earlier.
Check-out again
varies, but is usually between 10am and 11am, allowing time to make
up the rooms for new arrivals.
All hotels will
hold luggage securely if you arrive early, freeing you to go for a walk
etc. They will also all hold luggage after check-out if you need
to depart later in the day.

Cancellation
of Hotels.
After
you confirm a booking with the UK Hotels register, for any of our hotels,
your credit card is automatically debited with a £5 per night deposit.
This is then fully credited to your room account and is intended to cost
you nothing.
What
it does do though, is to show the hotel you are serious in your booking
and that your card works. Which is one of the main reasons that so
many hotels are prepared to offer you rooms so much below their 'Rack Rate'.
In
the event that you should cancel after your booking is finally confirmed
by you, then you would lose the deposit and providing you give 24 hours
notice of cancellation, that is the limit of your liability.
However,
if you simply failed to turn up or cancel your reservation with less than
24 hours notice, ALL English hotels have the right to debit your
card for one nights stay. Whether
the hotel actually debits customers usually depends entirely on individual
circumstances.
Curency
convertor.
Rate changes are a daily
fact of life. The convertor that we have chosen for your use gives
a mid range price, somewhere in the middle between the buying and selling
rate and is intended as a guide only.
By clicking on the words
'Curency Convertor' above, you will be taken to the site of ETN in
the Netherlands. To return here, you will need to use the 'Back'
button on your browser.
Airport taxis and transfers.
First a word of warning. We used to have the best taxi service of anywhere in the world, but that has changed dramatically in recent years. Once upon a time, every taxi would have charged identical amounts for the same airport/hotel job. Then along came things we call mini-cabs the vast majority of whom are unlicensed and responsible to nobody!
If you must take a taxi from any airport, make sure it is a licensed taxi and ask the approximate fare before you get in.
The best option is always to call for transport from a legitimate company that you can contact on the Net before arrival, such as you will see by clicking this link. London Airport Taxis .
You can also make arrangements for trips out of town when perhaps a number of you want to visit Stonehenge or perhaps visit our University City of Oxford. They provide nice roomy limosines for party travel and can make a day out very memorable.
Yes, I know I am promoting them. Why not, if they deliver what they promise? Limosine Touring
