Visiting any city can be hazardous in terms of finding somewhere nice to stay. Pick a good bed and breakfast and your break can be extremely enjoyable. Pick bad Bed-Breakfasts and your trip can turn into a nightmare.
Each and every bed and breakfast in London, in our listings is regularly visited to ensure that the hotels actually deliver what their advertising says they will provide. We also check the quality of the Reception for friendly courteous service and that the rooms are acceptably clean and the bedding and beds are of an acceptable standard.

The B&Bs listed below have been individually checked by tus for quality and value. All are central and all have easy access to the Underground system making touring in and around our city very easy.
As with any big city, some areas within our capital are not as safe for travellers as one would wish. So far as possible we have excluded any establishment which we would consider as being in an unsafe area. Customers should note though that this is a value judgment made solely by the proprietor of this site and that he disclaims any legal responsibility in this respect.
London is the second most expensive city in the world for accommodation, so on your behalf we have looked for hotels which we believe are clean, safe and give value for your money. We do though, welcome whole-heartedly any coments on your stay.
Weather.
We are frequently asked for advice concerning clothing etc. for a visit to Engl;and and you can fairly well sum up the weather for anywhere in the UK with the words wet and changable. My personal cathch-phrase is "If you don't like our weather.... Wait a minute!"
Contrary to what most people imagine. our wetest part of the year is June and July, when sudden and sometimes totally unexpected thunderstorms can and do happen
Always be sure to bring at least one warm jacket or coat and always be sure to bring a plastic mac or something waterproof.
It isn't all bad news though. Our weather can change for the better just as quickly as for the worst.
Words of warning.
As with any big city, crime happens. So a few words of caution and advice.
Almost everywhere will accept travellers cheques. As the issuer recommends, keep a note of your travellers cheque numbers somewhere safe where they won't go missing along with the cheques if stolen
It is not a bad idea to e-mail yourself the cheque numbers, together with the telephone number where you report stolen credit cards, before you leave home. Then if the worst comes to the worst, you only need an Internet cafe and read the e-mail you sent to yourself.
You may care to even send yourself your credit card numbers, but never put the whole number in one e-mail.
